General information

Now we will introduce you to the ‘most important things in brief’.

Choose between an IMAP or a POP account, the decision is yours.

The difference between IMAP and POP briefly explained:

IMAP If you select this account, the emails are saved on the server and you can download the messages from various devices.
POP If you select this account, the e-mails are downloaded from the server to the PC, but are not saved on the server.

The decision to use an IMAP or a POP account is up to you. Select the settings using the table.

POP3S Inbox encrypted Port: 995 SSL
IMAP Inbox encrypted Port: 993 SSL
SMTP Outgoing mail Port: 587
SMTPS Outgoing mail encrypted Port: 465 SSL

Now to your data, which you will need again and again during set-up.

Name Your Name
E-Mailadress muster@musterdomain.ch (your e-mail)
Account type POP3 or IMAP
Incoming mail sr00.firestorm.ch (enter your sever number here)
Outgoing mail sr00.firestorm.ch (enter your server number here)
Username muster@musterdomain.ch (your e-mail adress)
Password ****** (This password is the same as the one you created in the admin interface)

 

Create email address in the admin interface

Firstly, create your desired email address in the admin interface.

This is done as follows:

  1. Log in to the admin interface at https://admin.firestorm.ch
  2. Open the Services menu and then My services
  3. Click on your hosting package
  4. Click on the Email addresses button and then on Create account
  5. Now create your email address

Important: remember the password you create for the email address.

The following screen appears in the admin interface:

Set up an email account in your Outlook

Start Outlook and click on File and then Add account

 

Set up your email account automatically

Enter your email address and click Connect

Now enter your password that you set in the admin interface and click on Connect

Now click on IMAP and then on Process completed, you have now reached your destination

Set up your email account manually

Enter your email address and click on Advanced options now tick the box ‘I want to set up my account manually’ and click Connect

Select your account type and then fill out the form

Now click Next and finally enter the password you set in the admin interface. As soon as you click on Connect, you have reached your destination.
